We invest with patience.
We measure ownership in decades. We will not sell a great business to make a number, and we will not buy a poor one to fill a column.
Eleven years of building businesses we plan to own for the next eleven generations.
Herfa Group was founded in 2014 with a simple, slightly unfashionable idea: that the best way to build wealth in Ghana — for ourselves, for our partners and for the country — is to own great businesses for a very long time. Not to trade them. Not to flip them. To own them.
We began in real estate, with a single residential project in East Legon. Today we are a family of five operating companies, each a category leader in its sector, each run by a managing director with full operational autonomy and the backing of a patient Group office.
We are headquartered at Stella Place, a building we built ourselves, in a neighbourhood we helped shape. The Group office is small by design — twelve people, a board of seven — because our work is in the operating companies, not above them.
We have never raised outside capital, and we have no plans to. The companies we build are the assets we hold. The compounding is the point.
We measure ownership in decades. We will not sell a great business to make a number, and we will not buy a poor one to fill a column.
Every Herfa company is led by a managing director with real authority. The Group gives them capital, governance, standards and counsel — never interference.
We hire locally, source locally, train locally and reinvest locally. The success of Herfa is inseparable from the success of the communities in which we operate.
We do not measure ourselves by press cycles or league tables. The work is the work. Time and discipline do the rest.
What we promise to a tenant, a customer, a supplier or a colleague, we keep. Reputation is an asset that compounds faster than capital.
Every business we own should be measurably better — for its people, its customers and its community — at the end of our stewardship than at the start of it.
A small senior team responsible for capital allocation, governance, brand and standards across the family of companies. Twelve people in total, supporting more than three hundred operators in the field.
